Physical threats are one type of way that employees can be harassed at their workplace. This type of harassment exists where an employee is threatened in a manner that it suggests that the person would want to do physical harm to them. When a person threatens an employee, the employee can go forward and seek legal intervention against the person that has threatened them.
Under the many types of workplace harassment, one of them is intimidation. This mostly occurs between staff that are senior and them that are of a lower position in the hierarchy of command. A junior employee may stand out due to their exceptional work and this may cause a senior employee whose work is threatened to intermediate such an employee so that they try to hinder their progress. Therefore, when an employee of an organisation is intimidated by any other person in the same organisation he or she can seek legal redress against that individual because intimidation is not lawfully accepted.
Another type of workplace harassment that exists in the workplace is physical assault. We have heard of stories in the media about employers that physically beat the employees for not meeting targets or because of some mistakes they did while doing their work. One, therefore, has to understand that this is unacceptable and in the event, they are physically assaulted by their employer or any senior person in the workplace environment they can always seek legal action against the individual for doing so.
Another type of workplace harassment that exists is name-calling. This type of workplace harassment is the one where an individual is given a name that does not match him or her so that it disturbs the person. A victim of name-calling in any organisation should understand that this is not acceptable by law and therefore in the event, a person nicknames them they should seek legal action against the individual so that they stop calling them by those names.
Another type of workplace harassment is mockery. This is the type of harassment where an individual is made fun of by his fellow colleagues or even the employer. In the event that one falls victim of mockery he or she can seek for legal action against the people that mock him or her so that they stop doing so.
Interference with performance at work is another type of workplace harassment that exists. Human beings are very unpredictable, no one always hopes for the best for their fellows and even in the workplace environment they are such kind of people that always want to put down the efforts of people that are working hard so that they do not succeed in their work. When an individual notices this type of acts that have been done against him or her she can seek legal action against the individual or individuals that have perpetrated the act.
